State authorities in Philadelphia, PA busted an alleged drug trafficking ring which included the arrest of several reputed members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.
The crystal meth ring allegedly moved 28 pounds of methamphetamine in just a seven-month period, from the end of last year into early this year. In all, authorities say, the drugs distributed by the ring were worth $5 million. Pennsylvania attorney general Tom Corbett says William Lees of Tulip Street in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia was in charge, receiving drugs from as far away from Mexico: "As the investigation progressed, agents learned that Lees was distributing crystal methamphetamine to several members of the Outlaws motorcycle gang." Corbett says a search of the home of Thomas Zaroff Jr., Philadelphia chapter president of the Outlaws, found digital scales and over $200,000 cash. It's his second scrape with the law in just three years. In 34 other searches, authorities seized more than eight pounds of meth, almost three pounds of cocaine, and a quarter-pound of bulk heroin.
